We’re going to take a brief break from the retelling of my epic West Coast adventure. Instead, I’d like to share with you the 3rd in a series of poems that started with the “Ode to the Travelling Soul” poem.
Inspiration hit me over the head this time, and this 3rd poem picks right up where the 2nd one, called “A Flash of Newfound Zen”, left off. Perhaps it’s partially inspired by my recent research into the Mayan Calendar and the auspicious times we’re in. Or mayhaps it’s simply a mysterious wave of intuition. Maybe.
In either case, it’s amazing to me to think that it’s been just over two years since I wrote “Newfound Zen”; but, as you know, time can be deceiving. This poem takes on a more triumphant feeling than the 2nd; and it feels like it may be the conclusion to this particular series of poems.
But who knows, it may yet continue.
As to the final meaning of this particular chapter, I leave that up to you.
Escape the zoo we will, my friend
Before it burns, before it dies
Before the Dark consumes it whole
Transcend we will, among the Wise
Among the Wise on Paths of Light
We shall ascend on heightened song
Erasing every screaming trap
Transcending each projected wrong
Never again shall we feel pain
The strangling force of lethal traps
They’ll never grasp another star
The mindless evil has collapsed
Therefore rejoice, beloved ones!
Our common love shall heal our scars
A Golden Age is starting now
Meeting ourselves among Stars
