In case you haven’t noticed, I like to quote people. For those of you who have been living under several miles of volcanic ash for the past 3,000 years, “quoting” is a time-honored practice of retelling someone else’s words completely out of context.
This means that what the “quotee” (person being quoted) has said before and after a quote are usually completely forgotten in the mists of time. However, most people don’t really have the desire nor the time to listen to the whole statement anyway, and thus the quotation thrives.
About six millennia ago when I wrote “Your Chances of Success”, I mentioned an experience I was having with a particular quote at the time. And indeed, that quote remains unmoved, but I soon realized that perhaps other creative people could benefit from these motivational/inspirational quotation print-outs I was creating. Graphic design skills came in handy here as I would not have been able to properly lay out the immenseness of the typography if I didn’t know how to use Photoshop. I began exporting web-optimized versions of these quotations a few months ago. I even created an album and uploaded them all, but I kept the album invisible to public viewers because I did not feel that the time was right.
Look! Free motivational posters!
I feel that now is the right time. I call these motivational & inspirational quotations InspirationEverywhere (one word) because you can print them out for free and place them wherever you like. Perhaps you’ve heard of putting a positive note on your bathroom mirror to remind you how wonderful life is. Expanding on that, one is encouraged to place a InspirationEverywhere message, in the immortal words of Douglas Adams: “wherever it will give you the greatest joy.” For surely I would want you to put it nowhere less. 🙂
You may also use these images as desktop backgrounds or in any way that follows the Creative Commons license they are released under. In laymen’s terms, this means don’t sell them, give Byteful Gallery credit if you use them in a work, and don’t use them in commercial productions without first getting written permission from Byteful Travel. For more info on that, see the license.
But enough legal stuff. Because of how the unconscious mind works, repeated exposure to motivational messages such as these help keep you inspired and motivated throughout the day, and the effect is magnified over time, as well. These motivational quotations are available in the Byteful Gallery (of course) under the InspirationEverywhere album which includes such quotations as:
Courage is the price that Life exacts for granting peace.
~ Amelia Earhart
Think about that one for a while.
Open to Suggestions
As always, I am open to suggestions for future quotes to be included, as well. If you want your favorite quote to be considered for the InspirationEverywhere album, just use the contact form to notify me. Currently, the album contains printable quotations from:
- Amelia Earhart
- Anais Nin
- Ann McGee
- Eleanor Roosevelt
- Ephesians
- Helen Keller
- Michael Korda
- Pablo Picasso
- Ralph Emerson
- Andy Warhol
- Steve Pavlina
I will leave you with the quotation that is currently on my office front door. While Warhol may not have considered it, this quotation is as applicable to entrepreneurs as it is to artists:
People are always so boring when they band together. You have to be alone to develop all the idiosyncrasies that make a person interesting.
~ Andy Warhol
